General Job Description

This position defines and monitors quantitative operator performance statistics and is responsible for utilizing production techniques such as Lean Six Sigma, to design, modify, implement, and predict department workflows. Individual will be responsible for forecasting, capacity planning and maximizing utilization and efficiency of operators and equipment to ensure optimal performance. The Production Engineer is responsible for creating and owning standard operating procedures, the physical layout of the department and workflow cycle time. This position will have strong collaboration with the Quality Engineers and will provide assistance and direction for resolving production-related issues to ensure all key service levels are maintained at or above client expectations. May serve as a back up when the Operations Manager is offsite. This person is responsible for end-to-end flow and cycle time throughout the organization as it impacts workflow within their department.

Knowledge of production environments is preferred; demonstrate experience in workflow optimization; lean six sigma knowledge preferred.

Candidate will work as a task team member performing in a mission-critical environment.
