Requirements:

– BSCS or BSEE required; Masters in CS/EE desirable
– 5+ years development experience within a successful product development environment in telecom, medical device, defense or wireless communications at the component level (will consider related electronics industry experience including nanotechnology)
– Exceptional embedded C programming skills and low level firmware
– Knowledge of telecom, network communications and/or current wireless systems and protocols, i.e., T1, E1, Ethernet, WLAN, SNMP, 802.11
– Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
– Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with both software and hardware engineers
– Experience reading and understanding data sheets and schematics and to quickly grasp and apply new concepts
– Track record in identifying, recommending and architecting improvements to existing products
– Experience developing low level hardware-interfacing or microcontroller code
– Experience testing and debugging embedded products, including board-level debugging skills
– Excellent verbal, written and personal interaction skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, challenging, rapid-paced work environment
– Ability and desire to travel as needed for the position, including international travel

Desirable Skills:

– PC hardware configuration experience
– Windows knowledge and experience
– Ability to comprehend and navigate a large existing code base
– Scripting language skills
– Writing, debugging, and testing embedded C code for real-time systems such as VxWorks, PSOS, Greenhills, VRTX, Nucleus, ARM, MIPS
– Experience using standard lab tools for debugging such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
– Systems integration skills
– Prior experience in role combining highly technical development along with client-facing skills

Chaminade University of Honolulu Adds Masters in Engineering Management

Chaminade University of Honolulu will expand its advanced degree programs this fall with a master’s degree in engineering management.

The new program will be a partnership with the University of Dayton in Ohio, and will add to six other master’s degrees offered at Chaminade.

Classes will teach management and leadership theory tailored to the engineering field, and be held at Chaminade’s Honolulu campus and via interactive video from the Ohio university.

Chaminade does not offer an undergraduate degree in engineering, so the courses are intended for practicing engineers.

The University of Hawaii at Manoa offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering.

Senior Project Engineer in Boston, MA

Our client is looking for an Engineer with a minimum of seven years experience in the utility engineering field designing, managing, and constructing sanitary/storm sewer, and water distribution systems. This position is located south of Boston, MA.

 

Candidate should be familiar with CMOM/GASB standards and their implementation.

 

Responsibilities include developing proposal for and executing the design and service related work scope for collection/distribution systems, and other underground asset systems, interface with clients, and regulatory agencies, management of construction contracts, and other subcontract entities in service delivery. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

 

- Minimum of seven years experience in the utility engineering field designing, managing, and constructing sanitary/storm sewer, and water distribution systems.

 

- Experience in SSES work on collection systems, piping rehab techniques, PACP pipe inspection, and the development and programming of piping system rehab programs.

 

- System asset management based GIS experience a plus.
 
EDUCATION and/or LICENSING needed for this position:

 

- Bachelor’s Degree

 

- Must be a Registered Professional Engineer.

Planner – Production

Position Summary

Implement the production plan in the form of an operational schedule, with the appropriate fixed horizon, that minimizes inventory and maximizes efficient utilization of labor and production capacity.

·          Perform capacity analysis for labor and production equipment to determine feasibility for the production plan.

·         Create the short-term fixed schedule and orchestrate the implementation of that schedule.

·         Update and monitor reporting systems to insure appropriate progress of the fixed schedule, vendor production, deliveries, and new product launches.

·         Coordinate flow of packaging components from vendors to manufacturing operations or sub contractors.

·         Identify and reconcile inventory discrepancies within the department or assigned manufacturing area.

·         Initiate and follow up on writ offs of rejected or obsolete finished goods, component or bulk product.

·         Maintain finished goods “Q-Stat” report and expedite release of salable inventory and project releases dates to customer service departments.

·         Generate all necessary and required reports in a timely manner.

·         Implement all L’Oreal policies and procedures including, but not limited to, the Corporation’s Equal Employment Opportunity Policy and applicable safety and health procedures.

·         Perform other duties as necessary or required.

 

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Education:
BS/BA degree in Engineering/Business Management or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Three (3) to five (5) years experience in a manufacturing environment in cosmetics or related field with at least three (3) years experience in production planning preferred.

The ideal candidate should have 7 to 12 years experience in plumbing / fire protection systems design. Project types include full service hotels, condominiums, spec office buildings, tenant up-fits and garden style apartments. CIPE or CPD preferred. Autocad experience required. Experience with all plumbing systems design including sanitary, grease trap and oil interceptors, storm drainage, domestic water, and gas systems required; Design experience with Sovent beneficial.
