Seeking Analog IC Design Engineers:

Fast paced, expanding and dynamic company in the North Dallas area. Candidate will design analog IC’s for power management, LED and linear applications. Will work with applications engineers to take and analyze design requirements for implementation into new chips and perhaps higher level systems. Ideally seeking a background with power management systems, MOSFET’s, transistors, diodes, discrete, audio etc.

MSEE preferred but open. BSEE important. 6+ years design in analog IC. Must have linear or Power Management IC experience (on the job). LED IC’s, DC to DC power.

Digital Circuit Design Engineer to $33/ hr. Contract – North Dallas Area

Wireless firm that develops system components and consumer based electronics is seeking a hardware circuit design engineer. The focus is digital board and some PCB Layout for digital circuits/boards used in wireless devices. Must have experience with PADS (or PowerPCB) for schematic capture and layout of single and multi-layer PCBs. Responsible for verification and maintenance of parts library. Will be responsible for the layout of wireless modules, GPS devices and other small devices. Helps engineers identify and resolve mechanical design issues

Will consider 3+ years digital board circuit design experience involving: Multi-layer SMT board designs Routing high-speed digital, analog & RF signals. Focus on DFM & DFT for high volume manufacturing * Creation of CAM files, CAD drawings and documentation necessary for PCB fabrication, assembly & testing. This is not an analog role however, some experience with analog design would be helpful. Helpful hint: qualified candidate will have worked in a low-power consumer electronics type environment where power is a limiting factor, i.e. cell phones, calculators, hand held meter readers, cameras etc. A high power, telecom board background for instance would not be as good of a match as a hand held device board designer. Requirements:
– Strong C++ / C / Java programming skills and experience with middleware components such as messaging, multimedia, file-systems, virtualization (micro-kernel), UI frameworks, COM and databases
– Expertise with Android software internals is required
– Ability to write device drivers for Android (LCS, Touch, USB, etc.)
– Able to design, measure, characterize and improve the performance of middleware modules to interact with various mobile platforms
– Experience with embedded systems and platforms, including at least one of the following RTOS: Nucleus, pSOS, RT-Linux, VxWorks, REX, etc.
– Expert embedded debugging skills, i.e., with a JTAG debugger
– Hardware knowledge to include TI-OMAP, Marvell-StrongARM, or SC64xx processors
– Travel overseas for 2-3 weeks at a time several times a year to assist with integration and other activities at customer sites and company offices

Highly Desirable:
– Knowledge of other mobile platforms such as Windows Mobile, Linux, BREW, Symbian or similar technologies
– Masters degree in CS desired but not required

Responsibilities:
– Design and simulate novel signal processing algorithms in Matlab
– Write well commented code and documentation to provide support for integration of signal processing blocks into the system architecture, as well as provide user control of the algorithms
– Work in a team environment to resolve complex problems that require a high level of ingenuity and innovation

General Qualifications:

– 5+ years non-academic, on the job experience in Signal Processing
– Experience with wavelet-based signal processing algorithms particularly for modulation and/or compression applications
– Broad familiarity with signal processing algorithm development, optimization and simulation methods with an emphasis on:
-ADC and DAC interfaces
-Signal conditioning
– MUST HAVE DSL, and MATLAB on the job experience
-Up and down sampling
-Adaptive interference and echo cancellation
-Elementary and advanced coding
-Modern modulation
-Cyclical compensation techniques
-Adaptive transmit and receive equalization and spectral shaping
-Clock and data synchronization
– Experience mapping signal processing algorithms to high performance FPGA and ASIC architectures
– Doctoral or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or Applied Mathematics with an emphasis on advanced digital signal processing for telecommunications or a related field
– 3+ years of applicable experience in signal processing algorithm development
