In this key customer-facing role as Field Applications Engineer, you will maintain relationships with engineering contacts, sales representatives and distributor field personnel. Assist in resolving customer issues related to product performance, circuit implementation, prototypes and other critical support needs. Serve as liaison with sales force, engineers, and customers, and provide training to sales personnel. Create new product proposals and define new product specs, while providing feedback to marketing in support of product development and introduction. Documentation such as application and design notes for company literature and website, along with weekly status reports for senior management, will be part of your responsibility. You will travel throughout a defined territory and may have some overseas travel. Requirements:
– BSEE or relevant engineering degree, along with extensive analog circuit design and development experience
– Must have a strong design background the analog IC design space. Must also have moved into either an AE or FAE role. Candidate must have experience from both areas
– Strong knowledge of market factors along with customer-facing experience in a similar role
– Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation skills
– Ability and desire to travel as needed for success in the role
– Strong teamwork skills; self-direction; ability to set priorities and meet goals in a fast-paced high-growth environment

Areas considered a plus: PMIC, Buck converter, Discrete, Mosfets, transistors, linear products, DC-DC, LED Driver, converters. This is not an RF, PA, power supply, MMIC or related type role although our firm does represent DFW based companies in these areas. A strong mixed signal or digital background is not the focus here. Senior IP Telephony Engineer (Network Architect) – $75-90K – Dallas, TX

The Senior IP Telephony Engineer will design, implement, and handle on-going maintenance of the IP backbone in a fast paced VoIP Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) environment. The IP backbone is a highly complex, multi-site network and requires Softswitch (e.g. Freeswitch, Broadsoft), Cisco, Kagoor, Juniper, Covergence, etc. expertise and routing design expertise including BGP and OSPF. The Senior IP Telephony Engineer will identify and evaluate new equipment solutions, configure and turn up new softswitch centers (US and Abroad), core routers, and maintain backbone and router port capacity in the core network. Additional responsibilities include working internally with a team to support the network operations staff in highly technical trouble isolation and resolution. Some system maintenance and upgrades will occur during established off-hour maintenance windows. Travel to remote offices will be required when emergency repairs or network upgrades are done. Constant review of existing network practices for improvement and execution of necessary improvements is expected, including implementation of a full network monitoring and reporting plan and execution. Requirements

– BS in an Engineering discipline (Communications preferred); MS preferred
– Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
– 5+ IP Telephony & IP Backbone engineering in a complex VoIP ITSP network
– 3+ years of hands on experience designing and building large scale, multi-site, highly available VOIP & IP networks
– Ability to follow multiple simultaneous projects to completion with minimal supervision
– Extensive experience with softswitch implementations and Cisco, and preferably Juniper, Extreme, and Alcatel data networking equipment
– Expert level knowledge of BGP and OSPF implementation and configuration
– Routing policy expertise including the use of (BGP) route-maps, communities, route-reflectors, and controlled route injection and (OSPF) costs, LSA filtering, access-lists, best practices
– Spanning Tree, VLAN design, broadcast storm control, loop avoidance
– Familiar with telecommunications equipment in relation to IP Telephony and data networking
– Hands-on experience with VOIP gateways and Softswitches (Freeswitch, Broadsoft)
– Hands-on experience with network management/debug tools (OpNet, Splunk, etc.)
– Ability to travel

Growing, vibrant Semiconductor firm is seeking a Product Line manager with some P&L responsibility! Will manage one the company’s major Product lines. The position has approximately 7 Direct reports. Thirty percent of the role will focus on management of product and process development strategies. This will involves interfacing with Marketing, Engineering and manufacturing. Will monitor industry trends. Thirty percent of the role will focus on customer specific issues, sales support, quality analysis and support of the general business unit operations. Will support issues related to complaints/returns etc. Will manage the manufacturing process and the challenges of new product introduction. The remainder of the role involves day-to-day operations. Managing and implementing the strategy. Will develop new processes and new improvements for the business operations. Travel is to be expected with the role. Ideal candidate will come from a telecom, video communications, hardware or electronics design environment and can hit the ground running with intranet based development. The work involves developing web interface controls that tie in with lower level embedded Linux applications. The primary focus of this job is application software development for their client and customer interfaces. These projects are fast paced, challenging and on the high-end of the “wearing multiple hat” scaled. In other words, you may be asked to dip down into the embedded ranks on occasion. The engineers wear many hats in a vibrant, team setting. You will also develop and integrate software in full-life cycle for both custom projects, and core products that may be mass-produced. This will be a challenge and the work is fast paced as well as refreshing.
