Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, you will handle automated equipment polling systems, customer and vendor back end integration, and other intriguing systems-related challenges. You will gather requirements from internal and external clients, then architect and design solutions that fit corporate infrastructure and policies. You will implement solutions without negative impact to existing functionality, and verify and ensure client satisfaction. Requirements:
– 5+ years full-time professional experience with full-lifecycle software engineering (requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance)
– Experience applying complex technical specifications related to published telecommunication or other technology integration standards
– Expertise with RDBMS experience including database architecture, normalization, optimization, and use of stored procedures and triggers, Internet, client-server, and back-end (automated / daemon) programming experience, preferably using Perl, along with MySQL, Apache, ASP, FreeBSD, Linux, HTML 4.x, and CSS 1 & 2
– Experience writing code that complies with standards-based SDLC and with developing new standards when needed
– Experience performing, managing, and self-testing developed code
– Ability to create, update, and deliver technical proposals and presentations
– Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and software documentation skills and experience
– Ability to create multi-threaded logic without deadlocks or resource stalls, and to develop efficient algorithms for solving difficult problems
– Expert knowledge of: computer logic, programming languages, workflow models, software design, data structures, operating systems, development tools, and standard user-level computer tools (word processing, spreadsheets, etc)
– Expertise with blended environments using Mac, Windows, UNIX, Linux and various web browsers, tools, and programming languages

Desirable Skills:
– Experience programming on UNIX-like systems using VI or other server-side editors
– Highly experienced in a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl) environment
– Telecom experience is preferred
– Knowledge of some or all of the following is desirable: GD graphics toolkit, XML over HTTP (SOAP), Oracle, awk, CORBA, Java, MS SQL Server, Windows Server, VB Script, JavaScript, DHTML

This highly visible role will focus on advanced Mechanical Designs in a leading edge SolidWorks and scientific instrumentation environment. Systems involve Optical electronics (opto-electronics), electro-mechanical, packaging, fasteners, plastic molded parts (will work with third party vendors), aluminum, air flow and thermal analysis. The Key to success in this role will be finding an extremely productive, high achiever representing the upper echelon of the talent base. May consider contract to hire option.

Skills sought: BSME. 5-10+ Years of advanced Mechanical Design in a Telecom, medical device, nano-tech or scientific electronics environment. Heavy SolidWorks experience a must have. Extremely productive worker with superior Mechanical design skills. Past experience with Sheet-metal, packaging, bracket design, fasters. Thermal, fluid or air flow analysis. Excellent opportunity to expand your skills in the Digital Video Communication / Digital Signage and related Video space. Candidate will serve an important and highly visible role in software quality test and assurance working with low level embedded software engineers and high level GUI interface engineers (and everyone in-between). Will develop test cases, test plans, test scripts. Test scripts are custom.

Skills sought: must come from Video Communication world (Digital signage, DVR, Set-top-box, etc.) with 5+ years of experience. Significant Linux background and prior experience testing in a C++/Linux environment. Superior problem solving abilities. Will likely have served as a software engineer at some point. Past experience programming in JavaScript, HTML and designing test code in general. Must have experience developing test plans, test suites, custom test etc. Will likely be able to read C++ (Windows or Linux).

Design of mechanical systems for new product development. Will work with a variety of engineers and manufacturing to focus on Design for cost, and design for manufacturability. Maintain engineering continuity start up and initial production runs for new or improved products. Oversee or assist in the creation of drawings and / or other design documents. Handling of cost improvements and manufacturability issues are expected to be worked with on the existing TDS product line. Product performance improvements include R&D of new and / or improved materials. Manufacturing support on technical issues dealing with design and design improvements. Meetings, design reviews and visits to customer site also expected. Engineering process which calls on individual to conform to and report for all engineering programs using the latest engineering processes including design reviews, program updates and tollgates.

Skills:

– Prefer BSME
