Alliant Energy is currently hiring for a Manager Gas Engineering and Operations Support to be located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications, and have demonstrated the following technical or job skills:

Engineering degree from an accredited college (Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree preferred).

 

A minimum of four years technical and/or professional experience in gas or electric operations, engineering, utility construction, project management, or related work.

 

A minimum of three years supervisory experience of a technical group preferred (preferably engineering, construction, project management or field operations).

 

Demonstrated effective leadership skills.

 

Working knowledge of electric, gas or steam operating practices, construction standards, work methods, equipment, maintenance practices, regulatory compliance and materials preferred.

 

Knowledge of safety rules and applicable electrical codes and PHMSA regulations preferred.

 

Ability to read and understand utility maps, plan and profiles, and drawings preferred.

 

Demonstrated financial skills such as budgeting and basic accounting.

 

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

 

Demonstrated understanding of information technology applications.  Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).

 

Ability to work in a diverse work environment.

 

Possession of a valid driver’s license.
