General Job Description:

System Engineer for the Force Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2)/Battle Command Product Line (BCPL) program. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
• Analyze parts of a complex engineering system, for the purpose of developing, deriving, and documenting requirements and concepts of operation/execution
• Translate system requirements into required software requirements and ensure flowdown to software developers; complete preliminary software design based on approved requirements
• Plan, perform, and document studies, investigations, and analysis to manage risks and ensure performance, security, and safety requirements are met
Work within the confines of a software product line includes its established plans and practices.
Participate in the domain analysis of the BCPL.
Qualified candidates must be a US Citizen with preference given to candidates possessing an active secret clearance. Some occasional travel required.

The following are the Basic Qualifications for the position:

• BS/CS (some experience desired)

Knowledge and understanding of systems engineering concepts, techniques, methods, and procedures
• Ability to conduct requirements reviews, design reviews, and code reviews without help or guidance
• Knowledge of software architecture and design, especially real-time systems
• Knowledge of TCP/IP based networking, including typically used protocol stacks and formats
• Experience with MS Project, DOORS or some similar requirements or test management tool/system

Experience in the following areas is an asset:

• CCNA or equivalent networking experience
• Experience with Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest clients
• OO Software development experience, particularly in C++/Linux

• Previous experience on Army programs and battle management is desirable
Proficient with UML, particularly using Rational Rose; ability to produce use case diagrams, sequence diagrams, interface specifications, and class diagrams

Senior Aerodynamic / Hydrodynamic Engineer

We are seeking two senior level turbomachinery engineers, with a focus in the aerodynamic / hydrodynamic design and analysis areas.

Responsibilities include aero/hydro design and analysis of compressors, pumps, turbines (including steam turbines), turbochargers, and stationary turbomachinery components. Experience with both axial and radial turbomachinery is very beneficial.

Turbomachinery experience should include meanline design, three-dimensional flow path and blading design, and CFD analysis using modern design tools. Project management experience is critical. One of the available positions specifically calls for in-depth turbine design/analysis experience. Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills are very important.

A minimum B.Sc., ME, and 10-15 years in aerodynamic/hydrodynamic design and analysis after the degree was earned, is expected.

Organizational Role:

Candidate will work as a task team member performing in a mission-critical environment. This position will be based out of the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD and will be responsible for leading or participating in network design efforts as well as the upgrade, maintenance, performance, and general operation of our infrastructure environment. The individual is responsible for maintaining and/or improving system performance and coordinating with the System Administrator Team Lead to complete Center-assigned security tasks.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Participate in and/or lead efforts for network and system design as part of ongoing reengineering efforts
Participate in and/or lead efforts for server and workstation hardware installation, maintenance, problem resolution, failure recovery, performance tuning, configuration, and optimization issues
Participate in and/or lead efforts for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems software, applications, application development environments, and utilities
Maintain interoperability between servers, workstations, and other network devices in a multi-server, multi-operating system environment consisting of HP-UX UNIX, Windows, and Linux.
Coordinate and monitor the setup and operation of network printer services using multiple servers, queues, and operating systems
Ensure system configuration and operation are thoroughly documented

Required Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience designing, implementing, upgrading and maintaining networks and system solutions in a mixed Windows, UNIX, and LINUX environment containing workstations, servers, high performance storage and high performance networks
In depth hardware knowledge: server architecture, CPU, memory, power supply, configuring and installing SCSI devices, workstation hardware, internal modules and general troubleshooting
Expert knowledge level in the Windows, UNIX, and LINUX operating systems
Needs to be a self-motivated person and team player.
Ability to communicate effectively and present results to both technical and non-technical staff and management at all levels.
