Senior Software SQA Lead Engineer (will establish the program), North Dallas area, 90-105K target + 3 weeks vacation + profit share

This is a senior level role that will be responsible for establishing the Test/QA program for a small company, develop test plans, test cases and methods. This is a well established company but really wants to formalize the QA/test group as the company expands. Candidate will put their signature on a very important endeavor. Excellent opportunity to expand your skills in the Digital Video Communication / Digital Signage and related Video space. Candidate will serve an important and highly visible role in software quality test and assurance working with low level embedded software engineers and high level GUI interface engineers (and everyone in-between including communication layer developers). Will develop test cases, test plans, test scripts. Test scripts are custom and written in JavaScript. Will support a team of less than 10 software engineers, who have traditionally been responsible for the QA and test. Will formalized the program and lead black box testing efforts too.

Skills sought: 10+ years software QA / test experience supporting engineering efforts, Will ideally come from the Video Communication world (Digital signage, DVR, Set-top-box, etc.), telecom, scientific electronics, communications or intense electronics environment with device driver, kernel level, embedded and firmware development. Significant Linux / Windows background and prior experience testing in a C++/Linux environment. Superior problem solving abilities. Will likely have served as a software engineer at some point. Past experience programming in JavaScript, HTML and designing test code in general is a plus but not required. Must have experience developing test plans, test suites, custom test etc. Will likely be able to read C++ (Windows or Linux). Prefer leadership experience in the SQA area.

Requirements
– Track record of preparing and implementing SS7 interoperability tests with incumbent operators, and experience monitoring and managing core network functions and SS7 to VoIP gateways
– Proven ability to handle escalated needs for operations team, including managing internal and external projects involving outsourced suppliers and external clients
– Direct experience with signal transfer points and signal control points Eagle, PT, and similar platforms
– Systems design and use expertise with installation, cabling wiring, tools, components, peripherals, and test accessories
– Ability to research and resolve IP telephony issues and recommend IP products
