Process Engineer II in Malabo, West Africa

Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering. HYSIS modeling and basic Microsoft applications required. Ability to resolve issues with design institutes and propose/negotiate solutions. Good communication/interpersonal skills. Ability to deliver goals and objectives to agreed deadlines. Safety and Environmental Awareness a necessity.

Overall Design Appreciation: participate in the design of natural gas treating processes and facilities required for separation, dehydration, liquid extraction, non-hydrocarbon gas removal, product contaminant removal, and water disposal (both onshore and offshore facilities). Gas Supply System: ensure that th design for gas collection: wellhead to plant inlet battery limit meets the requirements of the plant and to ensure that start-up and gas volume variations can be accommodated without the occurrence of hydrates. Process Control and Instrumentation: ensure that control and instrumentation of the process and gas collection system are compatible. Ensure plant safety with appropriate operating and fail-safe standards. Process Software Simulation: Run HYSYS so that process performance design checks can be completed. Assist Plant Superintendent in development  of solutions to operational problems. Develop understanding detailed workings of onshore processes and offshore facilities.  Initiate efforts as required to increase efficiency and improve gas and liquid product value. Provide technical support to assist in obtaining required permits and approvals from appropriate government agencies.  Provide training to plant operations personnel on environmental impact safety implications of process and chemicals, maintaining process reliability, and proper operating practices and procedures to contribute to optimum plant performance and safe operation. Participate in the continuous development of safe work practices operating produces and promote environmental stewardship through example. Support company’s global performance system process by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment, Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility. Bachelors required or Equivalent Experience; familiar with IBM compatible systems and Microsoft support software, planning.scheduling software and SAP PM. 5-10 years of supervisory experience or 15 years experience in a maintenance role. Must possess hands on experience, as training EG nations is a major portion of job scope.

Responsible for the development, modification and execution of maintenance programs for all machinery and equipment  Monitors, controls, manages and audits the storage and use of spare parts, consumables and other materials necessary for onshore and offshore operations. Responsible for intervention an turnaround activities.  Responsible for planning/scheduling of daily maintenance and operations activities, interventions, and turnaround activities.  Responsible to ensure program support for computerized maintenance management system SAP PM, quality control for data entry and effectiveness of reporting system.  Accountable to ensure that planned and unplanned maintenance of all facilities is executed in a cost effective manner while maintaining and improving equipment reliability and availability.  Assists with and supervises training and safety programs.  Ensures highest safety standards are maintained by all maintenance personnel.  Conduct regular safety meetings and assist in all emergency drills and exercises as required.  Support global performance system process by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment, Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility.  By accepting this assignment, one is also agreeing to be an active participant in one, or more of the Emergency Response Teams, eg. High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience working as an inspector, journeyman, or technician in a related field. General knowledge of all areas of the refinery operation. Excellent government and industry code knowledge, including overlapping disciplines. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with ability to assist overlapping disciplines. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Effective interpersonal skills. Skilled in a variety of computer techniques related to inspection data management. Applicable math skills.

Preference will be shown to API-510/National Board and API-653 certified Inspector/Engineer. Familiarity with API 580/581 and 579. Prefer 4 year Engineering Degree or commensurate experience. Working familiarity with ASME/API construction codes.

Show experience as a Project Manager and understanding of Capital authorization procedures. Experience with tank, pipe and pressure vessel analysis with computer software such as PVElite or Codecalc. Worked with SAP systems or Inspection management systems such as PCMS or Ultrapipe. Proven ability to communicate in front of groups and facilitative skills to hold meetings.

Responsible for independently managing the inspection activities within his/her business team/natural work team by utilizing advanced technical knowledge of inspection codes, standards, applications, as well as applying applying innovative operational theories, concepts, technology and negotiation skills.

This includes working with state inspectors, assisting contractors in interpreting codes and making recommendations for action, as well as providing services for inspection, rating, alteration and documentation requirements and ensuring that equipment is inspected in accordance with established codes, standards and practices.

Duties:

*Coordinate the Quality Assurance process.
*Coordinate implementation of the Project Quality Plan.
*Coordinate the Technical Assurance process.
*Monitor contractor / sub-contractor implementation of their respective Quality Management Systems and Quality Plans.
*Interface with site QC personnel on a regular basis.
*Lead and carry out Audits in line with the Project Audit Plan.
*Support review & audit of Project related management activities.
*Oversee Contractor’s audit Program for internal and external audits.
*Support Project Team to remediate quality management problems.
*Verify that the facilities meet quality targets defined by the Project.
*Assist in identification of quality management related risks and mitigation measures to the integrated schedule.
*Generate and issue status reports.

Requirements:
*10 years (minimum) experience in E&P Oil & Gas Offshore facilities or Project Engineering positions, with experience in a Quality supervisory position, including offshore experience.
*A degree in a related engineering subject.
*Knowledge and understanding of industry standards, processes, working practices and inspection techniques related to FPSO fabrication.
*Certified lead Auditor or documented experience as a lead Auditor.
*Engaged in a similar role on a major offshore project.

  • Perform FEED studies as well as detailed engineering studies to support projects, quotations and sales support related to various subsea process systems applications. 
  • Perform process engineering calculations or coordinate as necessary to develop process engineering design, and specifies subsea process system.
  • Overall separation system responsibility (external pie-separation, internal and downstream condition ,if necessary) 
  • Evaluate fluid properties and production profiles 
  • Prepare subsea process system design basis
  • Separator internals design. sizing, specification
  • Process simulations (steady state and dynamic) using HYSYS or equivalent o Chemical injection requirements 
  • Sand management design 
  • CFD analysis 
  • Define requirements for separation testing (if necessary) 
  • Inlet / outlet piping layout and equipment sizing from process perspective (effect on separation, flow regime, velocities, pressure drop, erosion, etc.) 
  • Subsea seawater cooler/heat exchanger process design specification for gas compression applications 
  • Define thermal insulation requirements for all subsea process system components 
  • Develop subsea process system operating guidelines 
  • Takes initiative to fully engage and “challenge” the product group and project team to ensure that pump system design is operable, safe and cost effective over the lifecycle of the field. 
  • Develop specifications of process related equipment to be procured from outside such as level measurement sensors, separation vessel. etc. 
  • Preparation of technical bid tables 
  • Vendor follow-up and suppliers documents comment — technical coordination meetings 
  • Lead or co-author external papers related to process design of subsea process systems for relevant conferences 
  • Prepares technical reports. PFDs. P&lDs, product data sheets for overall subsea process system including definition of instruments, location, selection of all process and control equipment. interface with other product group and project team members and work in a team environment.

Required Skills:ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good Communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) •Microsoft office (powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook Access is plus) 
  • Experience in using process simulators such as PVTSim, HYSYS are required. Familiarity with PIPESIM. OLGA or equivalent are a plus. 
  • Promotes approved FMC/CDS process system solutions within sales presentations, FEEDs and projects.
