Kansas City Engineering Firms Adding Jobs
January 29, 2008
Two of Kansas City’s largest engineering firms are adding engineering jobs at a rapid pace to meet growing demand. Burns & McDonnell and Black & Veatch are expected to add about 550 engineering and other jobs, even as other companies in the area like Sprint, are cutting back. The Chief Economist for the Mid-America Regional Counsel says that engineering-related jobs tend to be higher paid and therefore have a greater economic impact.
The addition of all these engineering jobs in the Kansas City area will be a welcome boost to the local and regional economy as the fears of a nationwide recession grow.
