The Database Administrator will be responsible for designing and maintaining databases for all of the company’s engineering data. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background in addition to the IT focus. Seeking a DBA who has served as a software engineer on engineering applications (low or high level) written in C/C++. Strong Mathematical bent would be ideal. MATLAB would be a plus. Seeking a self-starter, highly motivated, and have a focus on quality. Excellent benefits, in a small, team oriented environment. Requirements:

– 5+ years experience in the following
– Architect and design of large and complex databases, dataflow, and reporting tools
– Database Security and Optimization
– Data Quality practices
– Development of stored procedures
– 10+ years experience as a software engineer (prefer C++/Linux but may consider Visual C++)
– MySQL administration
– Must work well independently as well as in a team environment
– Good communication skills
– Experience with multiple databases a plus (e.g. DB2, Oracle, Postgress, etc…)
– Familiar with MySQL Query Browser and the InnoDB engine
– Familiar with Linux/MySQL/Apache web development a plus
– Familiar with Linux and Windows
– Familiar with C/C++ development
– Familiar with software lifecycle processes (e.g. CMMI)
– Familiar with subversion, cvs, bugzilla, doxygen, cmake, wiki and similar open-source development tools
