Alliant Energy is currently hiring for a Distribution Engineer II (posted as Electric Distribution Engineer) to be located in Mason City, Iowa.  This position may be filled at a higher level based on a candidate’s qualifications.

The candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications, and have demonstrated the following technical or job skills:

Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a degree in electrical engineering.

A minimum of two years experience in progressively more responsible engineering, operations, or related work.

Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Demonstrated knowledge of electric theory.

Demonstrated basic knowledge of the NESC, NEC and service regulations.

Basic knowledge of electric utility systems operation, maintenance and construction practices.

Ability to work in a diverse work environment, balancing consistency of direction with appreciation of diversity.

Demonstrates an understanding of the value of a strong partnership with all Alliant employees. Creates an open and honest relationship with all employees that is fostered by a clear vision of what’s best for the company and its employees.

Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal, listening and written communication skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of electric distribution system design, analysis, and standardization process.

Demonstrated ability to analyze performance measure data, identify process improvement needs from that data, perform root cause analysis, and implement process improvement changes.
