Electrical Designer (Sustaining and PCB electronic support). Contract target to April – $25-30 /hr – North Dallas area
Position Overview and Definition:
The Electrical Designer will work with product developers, technical operations, procurement professionals and strategic suppliers to provide sustaining engineering and technical support for new product introductions.
– Maintain controlled engineering documentation for electromechanical components
– Identify, qualify and document substitute and alternate electronic components to ensure availability of material to fulfill product demand
– Facilitate the manufacturing change order, engineering change requests and engineering change order processes
– Support the design, verification and validation of new or revised PCB fabrication or PCB assemblies
– Develop functional test fixtures for custom high density PCBAs that may require working knowledge of JTAG programming
– Develop functional test fixtures for custom cable assemblies
– Publish work instructions and training collateral for functional test fixtures
– Execute entire life cycle for modifying a released PCB Assembly including:
-Performing schematic capture using OrCad
-Verifying PCB layout using Allegro Viewer
-Revising or checking engineering drawings
-Procuring prototype material
-Verifying revised PCBA performance
-Engaging the DCO process to revise released drawings
– Perform hands-on assembly and verification of electromechanical test fixtures
– Provide 2nd level technical support to production operations
Requirements:
Associates Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
Must have ORCAD / Allegro experience.
Some PCB layout background would be very helpful
Working knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes and test procedures
Working knowledge of IPC 610 soldering standard
Working knowledge of PCB fabrication, design and test including stack-up methodologies
Working knowledge of CAD tools such as AutoCad and Solidworks
