Embedded SW Engineer, $40-$45/hour, North Dallas suburb

A global producer of custom-designed security hardware and software for established clients is ready to staff new projects requiring your software development skills. The Embedded Software Engineer will write software for an NXP ARM7 processor to update a number of Lattice FPGA configuration memories via JTAG. Although the immediate need is for a short-term contractor, the possibility of conversion to full time employment exists. You will work with state-of-the-art technology and skillful teams in a fast-paced high tech environment. This is a highly scientific environment that fosters creative thinking to discover innovative solutions. REQUIREMENTS
– BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or comparable degree with applicable experience
– 5+ years of experience developing embedded software using C
– Experience developing microcontroller bootloaders desired
– Experience developing applications to update FPGA configuration memories desired
– Experience with ARM7 and IAR tool chains desired
– Ability to work closely with electrical engineers to define software requirements
– Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking small company environment
– Excellent interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated problem solving skills
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
– Experience using revision control and defect-tracking software
– Electrical background desired
– Experience with TI DSPs and Code Composer Studio desired
– Security clearance desired
