You will take leadership of the engineering team, overseeing development of systems, hardware and software, so knowledge of real-time embedded systems and products is a must. You will work closely with both internal project management and external contractors to ensure that quality, delivery, and service goals are achieved. Management of assigned resources, schedule oversight, team focus, and personnel development are part of this role. Working through direct and indirect reports, you will take overall responsibility for engineering results. REQUIREMENTS:
– Bachelor of Science in Engineering (CS, ME, EE, IE or relevant engineering discipline) and five-plus years related experience
– Familiarity with the unique constraints imposed when developing products for hard real time embedded systems and solid understanding of technical systems
– Knowledge of, experience with, and commitment to rigorous, quality-driven engineering process methods, including strong understanding and support of reliability and continuous improvement
– Experience in configuration management and engineering document control
– Experience in both high level requirements collection and low level design.
– Experience in integrating complex systems and developing test regimens to ensure high quality product results. Experience in manufacturing specifically in document control and design handover to production team along the lines of ISO-type processes
– Experience in formal project management and business management
– Strong management, leadership and team building skills
– Good understanding of Six Sigma methods and principles
– Strong understanding of Formal Development Processes, principles and objectives
