Hardware/Systems Product Engineering Manager, Salary DOE, North Dallas Suburb

Employ your intellectual and leadership skills to help define the development strategy of this high-tech firm that is pioneering new security systems used by large organizations across several sectors. As Systems Engineering Manager, you will guide internal engineering projects in a fluid matrixes style management organization while also managing the efforts of outside vendors. These projects are often very short-lived and must result in sophisticated, working prototypes (reference designs) on the first run. You will develop system specifications, create plans and manage projects, and supervise the budget for sales support and operations development. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills and a track record of effective management across engineering disciplines will pave the way to success in this role. Requirements:

– Minimum requirement, 4 year degree in Engineering or related; MSEE is preferred. MBA helpful but not a requirement
– 10+ years experience as an engineer in the electronics design field. Candidate will come from a hardware design background in the digital or analog board level space. Systems design knowledge very important too.
– Must have experience leading design teams but not afraid to roll up sleeves and design a board. Not seeking someone far removed from the design itself.
– Must have experience gathering requirements’ from customers and ability to deliver effective presentations to the clients (important)
– Working knowledge of low level signal processing and electro-optic systems. Prefer some optics, sensor or RF industry experience.
– Experience with analog and digital circuits, constructing electronic circuit prototypes, and supervising electronics circuit repair
– Expertise with test equipment such as DVMs and oscilloscopes and comfortable working in a hands-on laboratory environment
– Well organized, focused, able to handle multiple priorities and projects, and with excellent communication skills.
– Knowledgeable of sensors, measurement techniques, and the modifications necessary to existing instrumentation in support of sales efforts
– Strong track record of driving engineering projects to satisfactory completion
– Ability to travel CA 20% (+/-) but not extensive

Desirable:

– Experience with PADs, ORCAD, and 3D CAD software (i.e., SolidWorks, Siemens PLM, Pro/Engineer)
– Experience with DSP and embedded systems
– C, C++ and Assembly skills
– Experience with optical ray tracing software (i.e., Optics Lab, Code V, Light Tools, OSLO and Zemax)
