High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of experience working as an inspector, journeyman, or technician in a related field. General knowledge of all areas of the refinery operation. Excellent government and industry code knowledge, including overlapping disciplines. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with ability to assist overlapping disciplines. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Effective interpersonal skills. Skilled in a variety of computer techniques related to inspection data management. Applicable math skills.
Preference will be shown to API-510/National Board and API-653 certified Inspector/Engineer. Familiarity with API 580/581 and 579. Prefer 4 year Engineering Degree or commensurate experience. Working familiarity with ASME/API construction codes.
Show experience as a Project Manager and understanding of Capital authorization procedures. Experience with tank, pipe and pressure vessel analysis with computer software such as PVElite or Codecalc. Worked with SAP systems or Inspection management systems such as PCMS or Ultrapipe. Proven ability to communicate in front of groups and facilitative skills to hold meetings.
Responsible for independently managing the inspection activities within his/her business team/natural work team by utilizing advanced technical knowledge of inspection codes, standards, applications, as well as applying applying innovative operational theories, concepts, technology and negotiation skills.
This includes working with state inspectors, assisting contractors in interpreting codes and making recommendations for action, as well as providing services for inspection, rating, alteration and documentation requirements and ensuring that equipment is inspected in accordance with established codes, standards and practices.
