Required Skills:• Process and manufacturing improvements • Knowledge of lean manufacturing…team leader on manufacturing lean initiatives (SMED, Kiazen Events) • Knowledge and capable of conducting D.O.E. (Development of Engineering) • Provide quote support • Provide CAD Support (AutoCAD) • Knowledge of tool and gage design helpful • Should have wire form and spring manufacturing background • Candidate must be able to work all shifts as project and training required (most likely first shift but need to be available for all) • Works with Quality to launch and continually improve process and quality of process/parts • Candidate will be part of the APQA team • Work closely with Production Supervisors to improve process and train operators • Coordinate between tool room and production to provide capable tooling and backup tooling • Perform mean-time-between-failure analysis • Reviews prints to determine tool, die, fixture, or gauge design required in the manufacture of the parts • Creates electronic designs using CAD software or hand drawn sketches to convey information or ideas. • Keeps appropriate logs and copies of designs for future reference • Makes informed recommendations or written acquisition requests for production or support equipment • Is familiar with Lean techniques and can apply them to improve plant efficiency and product flow • Reads and interprets machine manuals for the establishment required for quotations • May be required to visit customer location to aid in part design within the plant’s capabilities • Reviews works orders, prints and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design • Confers with engineering and design staff to determine design modifications and enters editing information into computer • Required to know about and apply the TS-16949 and EMS 14001 Environmental Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions as part of normal job function • Candidate must posses and Engineering Degree and have 3-5 years of related experienceGeneral Job Description:In this position you will propose and evaluate manufacturing processes. You will direct design, development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment for assigned areas. You will evaluate expenditures for process and/or equipment; you will also provide technical assistance and training for corporate plant operations. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a relationship with internal and external customers to include product engineering, marketing and suppliers. You will manage appropriation control activities and process cost requests.
