Power Management Applications Engineer, $70-90K (target), North Dallas Suburb
If you have expertise in analog circuit design and power management systems, this mission-critical role with a growing global semiconductor company will jumpstart your career. You will provide systems and applications support for a leading-edge line of power management products used in consumer and industrial applications. You will serve as the technical liaison among customers, field sales, marketing and product engineering teams. You will be involved with power management systems, working with customers to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues. You will analyze end use equipment and translate new system requirements into company definitions. Some bench analysis to determine requirements and end use suitability will be part of this role. You will also generate technical collateral to support new product releases. You will also perform technical simulations at the component and systems levels, and generate reference designs using the company products. Assessment of competitive products to identify company strengths and weaknesses, and general understanding of the marketplace, are also required. Requirements:
– BSEE or equivalent with 5+ years of power management product applications experience for a semiconductor company; Masters Degree preferred
– MUST have concentrated, experience with analog power management IC or linear product experience. A DSP, digital IC and larger microprocessor focus is not a fit for this role
– Thorough understanding of analog design at the component level
– Expertise and track record of switch mode power supply design capability and consumer electronics power management considerations and components
– Understanding of electromagnetic compatibility, switching applications and thermal management
– PCB-design and schematic generation and excellent technical evaluation bench skills
– Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
– Ability to travel up to 25%, including possible overseas travel
