Senior Manufacturing Engineer, North Dallas suburb

This growing high-tech company producing product protection solutions for government and industry applications needs a Manufacturing Engineer with electrical, opto-electrical and mechanical experience to contribute to the startup of an assembly line manufacturing a new device. In this role you will assist the design engineering team with development of Standard Operating Procedures, bills of materials, assembly processes and work instructions, space planning, labor routing, testing and final inspection standards and processes. Writing and reviewing operating procedures to ensure quality compliance will be required. You will also assist with vendor selection, validation and contract issues. This hands-on position will include designing, building and or purchasing the needed fixtures, tools and equipment. This is a contract to hire position that will provide full benefits upon conversion to employee status. Requirements:

– Bachelors Degree in Engineering (BSEE, BSME or manufacturing engineering) or Masters in Engineering required
– 10+ years experience in a low to medium volume production environment involving complex electro-optical assemblies
– Experience producing complex products that involve electrical, mechanical and optical assemblies
– Experience with a new manufacturing process from the initial startup phase thru to post launch deliverables highly desirable
– Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience producing technical process documentation
– Experience working with suppliers, vendors, contract manufacturers, and the contract negotiations and issues involved
– Knowledge of the fixtures, tools, equipment needed to produce quality products
– Expertise with MS Office Suite required; basic SolidWorks skills desirable
– Familiarity with GMP and ISO 9001 standards and compliance issues
