Join the video electronics industry surge! Exciting role working with a privately owned organization who is dominating their market-place. This small but growing firm is seeking a software engineering with embedded expertise to focus more on higher end application level development. The work involves advanced video controls (not at the microprocessor level) for various video content delivery mechanisms. Some of these devices are used in sophisticated, compact and robust set-top boxes. Others can be used in video displays in a variety of settings. The primary focus of this job is application software but one thing is for certain, this company doesn’t partition responsibilities between embedded, device driver and application development layer in the most rigid way. The engineers wear many hats in a vibrant, team setting. You will also develop and integrate software in full-life cycle for both custom projects, and core products that may be mass-produced. This will be a challenge and the work is fast paced as well as refreshing. The big picture products are tangible and the internal engineering labs exude a high-tech electronics (hardware) atmosphere that oftentimes, utilize consumer electronics to deliver the solution. In this position you will wear many hats and can be rewarded with significant challenge and opportunity to learn new skills in the embedded-Linux / c++, environment. Skills sought:
– 5-8+ years of Linux software with C++ focus
–3+ years JavaScript
– Experience with video controls, DVR or Set-top boxes or video streaming or decoders (not at the lowest level) etc.
– Prefer uClinux or embedded Linux
– Device driver skills in Linux or Windows DDK environment a plus
– Pluses would include experience with video imaging, camera controls, video chip-set integration, LED displays have worked on handsets, video display, digital signage, RF tuners, set-top-box, video on demand, video content delivery for universities, sporting arenas, hotels, casinos, entertainment venues etc
