As the Senior Electrical Engineer at this global leader serving government and Fortune clients with much-needed technical services, you will analyze, design, engineer, test and document complex PCB assemblies used for high speed digital signal processing hardware. You will work with a cross-functional team engineering high performance architectures, platforms, and data transfers needed for complex RTOS and imaging systems. You will design and optimize digital circuits for DSP, Microcontrollers, FPGA and PLD systems requiring complex algorithms for fast, wide data channels. Responsibilities include coordinating data transfer with embedded software engineering teams to ensure efficient architecture for best system performance. Real time analysis, testing and debugging of hardware is required. You will select components, design circuits, do schematic capture, manage layout of PCBs, and work with external vendors and internal teams to produce and test prototypes and working systems that meet the needs of growing clients. Requirements
– BSEE from an ABET-accredited college required; MSEE desirable
– 10+ years related experience designing PCBs for complex, high-speed synchronous and asynchronous systems
– Experience hosting and executing signal processing algorithms for 100 MHz (fast) and 64 bit (wide) data channels
– Working knowledge of multi-processor power supply requirements used for conditioning and sequencing processors that require multiple core voltages with powerful start-up and excellent transient stability
– Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams with embedded software engineers, mechanical engineers, outside suppliers, and other hardware engineers to produce complex systems adequately partitioned for co-development, real-time debugging, and best case performance
– Track record of working with I/O schemes for high speed data transfer, DDR memory devices, IDE and JTAG hardware debugging and programming tools, LVDS channels, EMI containment and precise PCB layout design rules needed to meet overall system level performance objectives
– Experience selecting components, managing PCB layout processes, generating bills of materials and controlled engineering drawings for design, fabrication, and assembly instructions, test requirements, and acceptance standards
– Experience coordinating suppliers, IC applications engineers, and other vendors involved in prototype and production of products
– Strong CAD/CAE skills, including OrCad, Allegro, SolidWorks and Gerber PCB format viewers for CAM file verification
– The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills along with organizational strengths and excellent technical problem-solving skills
