Exciting role working with a privately owned organization who is dominating their market-place. This small but growing and profitable firm that has doubled its revenue is seeking an embedded software engineer to work on advanced video controls and embedded software for various video content delivery mechanisms. Some of these devices are used in sophisticated, compact and robust set-top boxes. Others can be used in video displays in a variety of settings included those associated with digital signage and digital video delivery. The primary focus of this job is the development of embedded and communication related software. The engineers wear many hats in a vibrant team setting and tactile, hardware centric environment. You will also develop and integrate software in full-life cycle for both custom projects, and commercial products sold in greater quantity. This will be a challenge and the work is fast paced and refreshing. The big picture products are tangible and the internal engineering labs exude a high-tech electronics atmosphere. In this position you will wear many hats and can be rewarded with significant challenge and opportunity to learn new skills in the embedded-Linux, and low level applications markets. Requirements

– 5-8+ years of embedded software or application layer software associated with video delivery systems

– Experience with video controls, video on demand, DVR or Set-top boxes or video streaming or decoders (not at the lowest DSP level) etc.

– Prefer uClinux or embedded Linux but open to Windows and other platforms coupled with strong low level programming.

– Device driver skills in Linux or Windows DDK environment a plus

– Pluses would include experience with video imaging, camera controls, video chip-set integration; LED displays have worked on handsets, video display, digital signage, RF tuners, set-top-box, video on demand, video content delivery for universities, sporting arenas, hotels, casinos, education, travel, entertainment venues etc
