General Job Description:

 

Qualified candidates must be capable of assuring all aspects of the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) are met. Identification of and compliance with requirements for system development, acquisition, integration and implementation is primary, and includes preparation of formal system documentation (requirements, specifications, software, hardware, interface and interdependencies development, transition and disposal). Advise on system engineering specialties such as safety, security, RMA, risk management and CM. Selected applicant will provide senior system engineering support to the Terminal Weather Sector, to include all Weather Sensors programs. Independent work will be performed in support of systems engineering projects (i.e. Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, Lifecycle Cost Analysis & Estimation, and Systems Safety Analysis). Provide preliminary solutions to a variety of problems that may arise in an expeditious and efficient manner.
System engineering experience in support of FAA weather programs and weather systems acquisition is highly desirable.

Also, at a minimum, possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, or computer) from an accredited college or university and at least 20 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in engineering (civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, or computer) from an accredited college or university and 15 years of relevant experience.
