Telecom Traffic Engineer, near downtown Dallas

Manage reporting, utilization and forecasting of TDM and VoIP switches routers, nodes and interconnections for company TDM and VoIP networks at this growing telecommunications service provider. Measure and monitor performance, produce reports and statistics, forecast usage and make recommendations to ensure compliance with industry best practices. Forecast capacity related to high-level design and planning, including metrics such as ports, busy hour call attempts, CPUs, Erlang, and respective trends on network and customer centric elements. Analysis of existing data, forecasting, and detailed reporting of usage to management will be key aspects of your role. Requirements:
– 3+ years prior ILEC, CLEC, and RLEC experience must be clearly delineated on resume
– Track record with systems used to analyze network capacity
– Experience with performance monitoring of TDM, TCP/IP, SIP and VoIP protocols
– Data mining, data documentation techniques
– UNIX usage and knowledge of UNIX commands for data extraction a major plus
– PC skills with MS Office suite, organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills required
– Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
