A global leader providing vitally-needed services to Fortune clients worldwide needs a Verification Systems Engineer to qualify and validate performance of complex systems, including instruments, sensors, algorithms and subsystems used in their services. In this role a successful employee will have experience in hardware or software development, technical documentation, and validation / verification test planning. Responsibilities include maintaining thorough and detailed notes of laboratory and field trials, logging defects into a tracking program, and working with engineering to understand detailed product performance. The ideal candidate will also troubleshoot systems that may lack formal documentation, and work with technical writers to create operations manuals and technical documentation. This role involves complex engineered systems that include analog and digital electronics, embedded and system software and customized mechanical, optical, and system-level interfaces. Verification testing, validation testing, and benchmarking new product launches against competitive products will also be required. Requirements:

– BS in Engineering, Math, or Applied Physics required; Masters desirable

– 5+ years of related experience in testing, validating, and documenting large complex systems involving hardware, software, electronics, and mechanical-optical components and systems

– Track record of validating requirements, testing, installation, training, and writing user manuals for complex systems

– Experience using and updating defect tracking systems

– Experience interfacing with customers to gather requirements, evaluate and test products, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical review of complex systems

– Comfortable with use of laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, digital voltmeters and application specific microscopes

– Knowledge of spectroscopy, electronics, optoelectronics and nanotechnology applications is highly desirable

– Well-versed in MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Project

– Ability to travel 25-50% including extended stays

– Superior verbal, written, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and technically challenging environment
