Required Skills: Requires a bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering or demonstrated equivalent capabilities and at least 15 years experience in civil/structural engineering.
Must have experience in the design, specification, and construction of buildings with substantial reinforced concrete structures and structural steel, and have excellent familiarity with related earthwork and excavation practices.
Must have experience in use of:
AutoCAD or similar design tools, design codes for analysis of concrete and steel structures (ANSYS, STRUDL or equivalent) and familiarity with IBC, ACI and AISC codes.
Must have experience in management and oversight of A/E design firms, construction contractors; and coordination of construction activities, review of shop drawings, earth compaction, concrete and structural steel testing practices.
Experience in project management, including estimating construction costs, preparing schedules, developing specifications, preparing procurement documents and managing contracted services is required.
Qualifications Preferred: Master’s degree, professional license, and experience in application of earned value management systems (EVMS) is a plus.

Civil/Structural Engineer:
Selected candidate is responsible for planning, reviewing and monitoring the design and construction of the civil and structural engineering work of the NSLS-II Conventional Facilities Division.
Will be responsible for civil/structural engineering and design of NSLS II site development, paving, site drainage, geotechnical analysis, general construction, building foundations and building structures.
Selected candidate will oversee work of design consultants, construction managers and construction contractors and report directly to the NSLS II Conventional Facilities Division Director.
