A 24-person firm, we provide HVAC, plumbing, piping, power, lighting, and data/telecomm systems design for commercial buildings. Ideal mechanical engineering candidates should have:

– Minimum of 5 years of HVAC & plumbing design experience in a professional office environment
– Experience in commercial facilities design
– Experience in performing fieldwork and construction administration
– Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs.

Sitework Engineer, Oakland, CA

The Sitework Engineer (SE) will plan and direct all of the site/civil engineering activities for Habitat for Humanity East Bay construction sites. The SE is responsible for creating estimates and preparing and reviewing bid packages. The SE will also prepare and manage contracts administration regarding infrastructure and will oversee construction installation, contractors’ work and finalize infrastructure accounts.

Interested candidates must have a BA/BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management, at least four (4) years of relevant work experience and knowledge of construction and residential building materials. Good oral and written communication skills and knowledge of MS Word, Project Excel and CAD desired. Qualified individuals will also understand the vision and mission of Habitat East Bay and be familiar with its history. This is a mid to senior level, part-time, salaried position. Salary range: $25K-$35K DOE.

Neah Power Systems is a fuel cell development company using a patented, silicon-based design to provide long-lasting, efficient, and safe power solutions for portable electronic devices, including notebook PCs and other power-intensive computer, entertainment, and communications products. Overall Responsibilities 
Perform as an integral team member in the development of stand-alone portable power solutions in order to meet prototype and product development timelines. As a Systems Engineer in the Engineering group, responsibilities will include: 
• Development of analytical models from first principles 
• Design, fabrication and testing of various components and sub-systems 
• Development of interface specifications 
• Assembly and testing of sub-systems and systems 
• Working with vendors on design and procurement of components 
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment 

Minimum Qualifications 
• B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering 
• 5+ years experience 
• Good hands on/laboratory skills 
• Good documentation skills 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment 
• Attention to detail 
• Good communication skills (oral and written) 
• Ability to mentor junior technologists 
• Proficiency in Office applications 

Desired Qualifications 
• M.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering 
• 3+ years experience 

Experience in one or more of the following areas: 
• Fuel cell systems, preferably PEM/DMFC 
• Heat transfer and heat exchangers 
• Fluid transfer and pumps 
• Gas/liquid separation 
• Control systems and sensors 
• MEMs processing and devices 
• Math modeling/CFD experience 
• LabView experience 
• CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks

Your expertise in managing handset design applications from concept stage to market launch will assist this emerging growth company in its mission to bring financial applications to the wireless world. You will take charge of design, development, testing and support of handset applications across a range of wireless technologies.
